I'm an Integrative Nurse Coach.
That means that I'm used to seeing magic happen.

This is what I know about people who are faced with a health situation. It could be their own or they could be caring for someone else. They can feel confused, overwhelmed, and lost. My work is about helping people develop a practical understanding of their situation, identify personal goals and make changes in their lives. I know how to stop the overwhelm and make it doable. Sometimes this even means figuring out the best thing that could happen and then going one step further. When that happens, it’s magical!

You may have heard about coaching. When the coach is a nurse, however, a special kind of magic can happen because we can look at things from an integrated bio/psycho/social/spiritual perspective. I believe that the whole of a person's life is greater than the sum of its parts. Our lives are not defined by our medical diagnoses.

My clients are often people who have had successful professional careers and are now faced with some kind of health-related situation. Sometimes the client is the person who has the condition and sometimes it's their friend or family member. I see people working on aging or conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer. My nurse coaching training included a focus on the end of life. I have seen wonderful things happen for people who are working on end of life issues.
